Cat's claw (Uncaria tomentosa) is an indigenous plant of the Amazon’s rainforest and other tropical areas of South and Central America. Its name is derived from the form of the hook-like thorns that grow along the vine and resemble the claws of a cat.


The peoples of South America have used cat's claw as nutritional supplement for over almost 2000 years.
