Alfa Vitamins’ AM formula is an energizing nutritional supplement containing vitamins and minerals that complements Alfa Vitamins’ PM formula.

This formula contains vitamins, minerals and other natural ingredients that work as an energizer to complement the benefits of PM. It is a nutritional supplement that must be taken daily with food, preferably in the morning to invigorate our bodies and help the PM effects to be more beneficial.

Vitamins, minerals and other natural supplements included in AM:

Vitamin B1, also known as thiamin, is water soluble and not soluble in alcohol. Its absorption occurs in the small intestine as free thiamine and as thiamin diphosphate (TDP), which is favored by the presence of vitamin C and folic acid but inhibited by the presence of alcohol. It is necessary in our daily diet. Its deficiency in humans causes a disease known as beriberi.

Vitamin B1 deficiency is due to an unhealthy diet or malnutrition. Alcoholism and chronic diseases are also main causes. The systemic deficiency of Vitamin B1 can lead to various problems in the body, including neurodegeneration, attrition and death. Other deficiencies include less severe problems affecting the nervous system, irritability, depression, lack of memory and inability to concentrate, lack of mental dexterity, heart palpitations, heart hypertrophy. Also, it is believed that many people suffering from diabetes have Vitamin B1 deficiency and this may be linked to complications of the disease.

Vitamin B2 or riboflavin is an easily absorbed micro-nutrient, with a key role in maintaining good health.

Vitamin B2 is a water-soluble yellow-colored vitamin. This vitamin is sensitive to sunlight and to certain treatments such as pasteurization, a process that destroys 20% of its content. For example, exposure to sunlight of a glass of milk for two hours destroys 50% of the contents of vitamin B2. Some sources of vitamin B2 are: milk, cheese, green leafy vegetables, liver, legumes and soy
products, yeast and almonds.

Vitamin B2 is continuously excreted in the urine, so its deficiency is relatively common when its dietary intake is insufficient. However, the deficit of vitamin B2 typically comes with the lack of other vitamins. There are two reasons for the deficiency of vitamin B2, the primary by an inadequate intake in your diet, and the second by poor absorption of this vitamin in the intestines.
Its absence creates eye, skin and mouth disorders, slow healing and fatigue. Other conditions that induce the deficiency of vitamin B2 are unbalanced diet, chronic alcoholism, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, excessive physical activity, prolonged febrile states, artificial lactation, stress, intense heat and the use of drugs.

In humans, the signs and symptoms observed in the deficiency of Vitamin B2 (Ariboflavinosis)
include cracked and red lips, swollen tongue, cracking on the corners of the mouth, mouth sores and sore throat. The deficiency can also cause dry skin, fluid in the mucous membranes and iron deficiency anemia.

Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin. This implies that it is eliminated through urine, and should be replenished through daily diet. Vitamin B6 is actually a group of three chemical compounds called pyridoxine, pyridoxal and pyridoxamine.

Vitamin B6 is known as the "women vitamin" as it helps to relieve premenstrual syndrome (irritability, discouragement, etc). There may be lack of this vitamin in pregnancy and when taking oral contraceptives.

Vitamin B6 is involved in the formation of brain chemicals vitamin that regulate mood such as serotonin. It may help people in cases of depression, stress and sleep disorders.

This vitamin is very popular among athletes because it increases muscular performance and energy production. It is needed in greater doses when people follow high-protein diets. It is necessary for the body to properly produce antibodies and erythrocytes.

Folic acid: an essential vitamin for life

When ingested before and during pregnancy, Folic acid (B-complex vitamin) may help prevent birth brain defects, and birth spinal cord defects called neural tube defects.

Despite the fact that folic acid is found in certain foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, etc…, it is difficult to obtain the necessary amount of this vitamin solely from the diet.

Folic acid benefits everyone, men and women of all ages. Everyone should consume 400 micrograms of folic acid daily. It is known that folic acid plays an important role in the production of red blood cells. Sometimes people who have folic acid deficiency develop a specific type of anemia.

Moreover, recent studies suggest that folic acid may also help prevent cardiovascular disease. In addition, it has been proven that regular intake of folic acid can reduce the chances of occurrence of various cancers such as cervical and colon cancer.

Vitamin B-12 can be used as cyanocobalamin, the main form of vitamin B-12 used in foods and dietary supplements. This usually has no adverse reactions, except perhaps in rare cases of eye nerve damage.

Vitamin B-12 is generally involved in the metabolism of every cell in the body. It especially affects the synthesis and regulation of DNA, the synthesis of fatty acids and energy production.

Vitamin B12 deficiency may potentially cause serious and irreversible damage, especially to the brain and nervous system. At levels slightly lower than normal, a number of symptoms such as fatigue, depression and poor memory may occur. However, these symptoms by themselves are too vague for the diagnosis of vitamin B12 deficiency.

The main syndrome of vitamin B-12 deficiency is Biermer disease or pernicious anemia. Its symptoms are gastrointestinal, neurological and megaloblastic anemia.

Calcium is essential for living organisms, especially in cellular physiology, where the movement of calcium ions inside and outside the cytoplasm acts as a signal for many cellular processes. It is one of the main materials used in the mineralization of bones; calcium is the most abundant metal in bone mass.

In general, soy products are beneficial to cardiovascular health due to its high content of polyunsaturated fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals, low in saturated fat, and biologically active compounds called phytochemicals.

The three main components of soy isoflavones are genistein, daidzein and glicitin. Soy isoflavones have estrogen and anti-estrogenic effects, depending on the tissue in which to act. They are structurally similar to mammals estrogen, hence are called phytoestrogens. They also have non-hormonal effects and antioxidant activity.

It is very beneficial to our health the consumption of dietary supplements.
