Oenothera biennis is commonly known as Evening primrose, and its oil is extracted from the evening primrose plant, a wildflower found in North America, Europe and parts of Asia.
Its oil is a natural source of an essential fatty acid called gamma linolenic acid or Omega-6, and when processed by the body is converted into prostaglandin which is known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
Evening Primrose has been traditionally used to treat such ailments as hemorrhoids, stomachaches, sore throat, and bruises.
